Gift Aid
Gift Aid increases the value of donations to charities by allowing them to reclaim basic rate tax on your gift. You can make Gift Aid donations/payments if you are resident in the UK. You must donate your own money. A donation can be made by cash, cheque, direct debit, credit card, debit card, postal order or standing order. You can use Gift Aid if the amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax you've paid in the tax year (6 April one year to 5 April the next) in which you make your donation is at least equal to the amount of basic rate tax the Club is reclaiming on your gift. Tax deducted from bank and building society interest can also be used to cover the tax reclaimed by the Club. Before the Club can reclaim tax on a donation, the Club must have received a Gift Aid declaration from the donor containing certain information and confirming that the donation is to be treated as a Gift Aid donation.
